Did you vote in the primary election on Tuesday? Thousands of ballots were counted on Tuesday night with a 15.42% turnout.
MORE BALLOT COUNTING HAPPENS TODAY
More ballots will be counted Wednesday in the Yakima County Auditors Office as some races may hinge on ballots counted in the coming days. Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says he expects a 25% to 28% turnout. Traditionally the turnout is low for a primary election.

Not everyone received a ballot for the primary election. Only those areas that had two or more candidates in a race received a ballot. 89, 400 ballots were issued for the primary and so far almost 16% have been returned. Many ballots are waiting in drop boxes around the county and more will arrive in the days ahead in the mail. Counting will continue until the end of the month when the election will the certified and all the counting is finished.
