I know it seems like we just got through Labor Day, but Halloween is around the corner in only twelve days. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year for the last time until 2037! You had better get out and enjoy this one, which begs the question: what kind of weather will we be expecting?

Rain can make or break a Halloween night, and it’s smart to plan accordingly. Well, it looks like we’re going to see nothing out of the ordinary. Phew! The Weather Channel is forecasting sunny skies for Halloween with a high of 55 and a chilly overnight low of 31, which is just about average. No rain to worry about yet—just make sure the costume is warm!

Only 31 of the 128 Halloweens we have records for saw any rain showers, meaning you have about a 1/4 shot of needing an umbrella in any given year. The most rain occurred on Halloween 1973, when 0.70 inches fell.

Snow?

Snow has even fallen on Halloween day! The valley actually received not only dumping rain, but 2.4 inches of snow on the 31st in 1973! It must have been a memorable year. The valley has only recorded trace amounts of snow on two other Halloweens: 0.5 inches in 1931 and 0.5 inches in 1991.
