Community Forums Start Wednesday to Find New Chief

As the city of Yakima begins its search for a new police chief, you have a chance to tell city officials what qualities you would like to see in a new chief. The city is holding community forums on the subject, with the first set for Wednesday (Feb. 6). The forum starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Henry Beauchamp Community Center, 211 South Seventh Street.
The next is Thursday (Feb. 7), beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Harman Senior Center, 101 North 65th Avenue.
The city has hired a search firm to find candidates who want to become Yakima's next police chief.
