Central Washington State Fair officials say the weather played a big role in the lack of people that passed through the gates this year when compared to 2018.
Fair officials say 277,751 people passed through the gates this year compared with 321,600 people in 2018.
The first Sunday was down more than 15,000 from the year before the reason why fair officials were hoping for more promising weather the last weekend but that didn't happen.

The Fair board is now planning for the 2020 Central Washington State Fair. The board is also beginning a search for both a new general manager and assistant general manager for State Fair Park because Greg Stewart and Greg Lybeck are both leaving the organization.
