The Larson Gallery and YVCC Playmasters will feature a one-night only production of ART on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 4:00pm in the Larson Gallery on Yakima Valley Community College's Yakima Campus.

The Tony award-winning play is written by Yasmina Reza and translated into English by Christopher Hampton.

Set in Paris the comedy raises questions about the meaning of art and friendship. The story explores the friendship of three men—Serge, Marc and Yvan—who find their previously solid 15-year friendship on shaky ground when Serge buys an expensive painting. The story asks the questions: How much would you pay for a white canvas painting with a few lines? Would it be art? What would your friend’s think of you for buying it? Serge finds himself in this exact situation following his newest acquisition as his and his friends discuss this work of art and their ongoing friendship.

YVCC’s production of ART will showcase three of YVCC’s talented faculty members including Larson Gallery Director and YVCC Photography Instructor David Lynx, YVCC Political Science Instructor Timothy Jeske, and YVCC Geology Instructor David Huycke.

Tickets cost $35; seating is limited. To reserve a seat or for additional information, contact the Larson Gallery at 509.574.4875 or www.larsongallery.org.
