Yakima Valley Community College will host Brian Whatland, Director of Student Programs at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) on Thursday, Dec. 4.

Over the next five years, PSNS will have over 1,000 job openings per year. Whatland will talk with students about the opportunities available both for apprenticeship training and employment openings. The presentation will be held in the Parker Room of the Deccio Higher Education Center on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 4:00-6:00pm.

PSNS & IMF is focused on providing customers with quality, timely and cost efficient maintenance, modernization, and technical and logistics support. PSNS & IMF has sites in Bremerton, Bangor, Everett, San Diego, Boston, Japan and wherever its workers go to fix ships. The Bremerton site is the Pacific Northwest's largest naval shore facility and one of Washington State's largest industrial installations.
