We are back into the 90 degree temperatures in the Yakima Valley and all the thirsty folks are reaching for a bottle of…pop…water…water …pop…which is it??

Bloomberg News says this year bottled water will be more popular than soda for the first time in the U.S.  To be honest, I never even dreamed I would see the day.   I was raised on a farm where our well water was cold, fresh and thirst quenching.  But as great as it was – no salt, no chemical or mineral taste, I always assumed people would find free water and pay for soda pop.

Some of the biggest U.S. bottled water companies, including PepsiCo Inc. and Coca-Cola Co., are saying that Americans have switched from carbonated beverages because their products are calorie-free and as portable as a can of soda.

According to Beverage Digest, per capita consumption of carbonated soft drinks reportedly reached a 30 year low in 2015.  Looks like I was 30 years ahead of the times 30 years ago!  (Bloomberg)
