The change in weather has Washingtonians preparing for the winter months and for many, that includes getting a flu shot. Dr. John Dunn with Group Health Cooperative says those who decide to be vaccinated shouldn't delay, because it takes a few weeks for it to become effective. And he says there's no need to worry about getting the shot too early, because studies have shown the flu vaccine lasts through the entire season. "There's no time like the present to get the shot because life gets busy and you quickly forget." Then he says you find yourself vulnerable during the flu season because you forgot the shot. The shots are now available at pharmacies and stores throughout the Yakima Valley.
