Yakima Valley Community College and the Wesley United Methodist Church Green Team are co-hosting Yoram Bauman, comedian and environmental economist Thursday and Friday.

His presentation, titled "Climate, Carbon and Taxes: What is so funny about that?" will be held at YVCC's Kendall Hall on 7 p.m. Thursday, and at Eisenhower High School Friday morning at 9.

Yoram Bauman makes a living as "the world's first and only stand-up economist," but he  also holds a Ph.D as an environmental economist. He is part of the effort to bring a revenue-neutral carbon tax to Washington state.

Bauman is the co-author of the two-volume "Cartoon Introduction to Economics," the forthcoming "Cartoon Introduction to Climate Change," and the 1998 book "Tax Shift," which was written with Alan Durning of Sightline Institute and helped inspire the successful revenue-neutral carbon tax in British Columbia.
