How a Federal Sequestration Might Affect the Wapato School District on the Mike Bastinelli Show [AUDIO]

The Wapato School District is going through a renaissance, with construction on a new high school and several innovative programs. Due to the lack of taxable land within its boundaries, 25 per cent of the district’s annual operating budget comes from the federal government. Much of the money comes in the form of federal grants
The Wapato School District’s superintendent, Becky Imler, Community Relations Director Mike Balmelli ,and Business Manager Sylvia Bazan were a guests on Tuesday’s Mike Bastinelli show. They talked about how the possible federal sequestration would affect the district, and what to expect in the future. They also talked about the construction of the new Wapato High School, with a completion date of Fall 2014.
