The City of Yakima is poised to spend thousands of dollars on economic development in the near future. The city council on Tuesday approved an environmental impact study for the former Boise Cascade mill site, and give the OK to a contract with and Oregon firm to come up with downtown Yakima master plan.

City manager Tony O'Roarke was a guest on Wednesday's Mike Bastinelli show. He talked about those two issues, as well as a moratorium on cell phone towers the city council approved last night.
