Ebola Could Impact World Chocolate Supply — Dave’s Diary

The whole world is talking about Ebola.  Are we safe, are we prepared, how bad could it get, how will it affect world economies or the stock market?

Not to downplay the concern because I am concerned but I just read this as I was eating a Kit Kat Bar -- “Ebola could severely affect the world's chocolate supply”.

Apparently the Ivory Coast has closed its borders with Liberia and Guinea because those two countries west of the Ivorian border, are among the countries worst affected by the virus.  (Did you know there is a World Cocoa Foundation?)

The Ivory Coast is responsible for supplying 30-percent of the planet's cocoa and the World Cocoa Foundation is aware of the implications such a move may have on the chocolate industry. (Mirror)
