Meet Christian. Not only is he one of the most adorable kids you've ever seen in your life, he was born with heterotaxy - a condition where one's organs are all mixed up. Most usually don't live to see their first birthday but, in Christian's case, he's about to turn one years old and is inviting everyone to his birthday party at Abby's on Monday, March 3rd! Proceeds of sales will benefit National Organization Mended Little Hearts.

I spoke with Aimee (mom) about this event. Listen to the interview.

Join the party Monday, March 3 from 5pm to 8pm at Abby's off 48th and Tieton. When you place your order, make sure you tell them you're there with Christian so proceeds of the sale will go to starting a support group for heart families in Yakima through the National Organization Mended Little Hearts.

You can dine in and even meet Christian and the family or you can get your pizza to-go.

From Christian's parents:

Thank you so much everyone for helping us get through Christian's first year. It has been the hardest year of our lives, but it has also been the most amazing year as we've been blessed with so many people selflessly helping our family.

Setting up a local chapter of Mended Little Hearts in Washington will allow other heart families to lend each other support and to receive much needed help while also raising awareness of congenital heart disease.

We love you Yakima!

Heterotaxy affects 4 in a million babies. Congenital heart disease affects 1 in 100 babies making it the most common birth defect.

Treat yourself to some great food and, in doing so, you'll do a great deed.
