Young Girl Injured While Cliff Jumping at Rimrock Lake

A 14-year-old girl from Grandview was injured Wednesday while jumping off a 30-foot cliff into Rimrock Lake just east of Bear Cove.

Yakima County sheriff's deputies say after the girl jumped off at about 4 p.m., she complained of a spinal injury and wasn't able to get out of the water.

Her friends helped her out and called for help. Paramedics arrived and called a Medavac helicopter. The girl was airlifted to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where she remains today.

There's no word on her condition.
