It's not yet spring, but the weather has a lot of people in Yakima thinking about gardening and lawn work.

Lance Forsee, owner of Yakima's Colonial Lawn and Garden, says one of the first things you should be doing is grabbing the rake to wake up your lawn.

"Start fluffing up your lawn, getting that snow mold out. Lift it up. Ornamental grasses can be cut down -- and prepare for weeds."

He says weeds will be thick this year because of all the moisture we've had. So he says consider a pre-emergent herbicide in the flower beds.

Within the next six weeks, Forsee says they'll begin the mowing season and spring preparations will be in full swing.
