Downtown Yakima Just Got A Hot New Spot For Mexican Brunch
TL;DR: Los Chilaquiles is officially open for business, and here's a quick restaurant review from one of our local foodie experts. Parking is hard to find because the place is usually packed.
On September 15th, a new Mexican brunch restaurant opened up near downtown Yakima inside the old El Mirador Express location on Walnut St named Los Chilaquiles.
Chilaquiles is a very delicious traditional Mexican cuisine dish and it has been a staple in some restaurants in town. Now that Los Chilaquiles is finally open, the restaurant has been packed with customers.
Mexican Brunch Is the New 'It Girl' in the Yakima Foodie Scene

I would say that the first place to really popularize Mexican brunch to the mainstream was Brunch Bliss & Bubbles, which opened up in the old Eats & Elixirs spot a few years ago. The place is always packed, which makes sense why the owners of El Mirador pivoted to a Mexican brunch concept.

What to Order at Los Chilaquiles
One of my besties and I had brunch there today and we were both amazed by the renovations. We were seated in a booth, but nearly 10 minutes had passed without someone stopping by to take our order or offer a drink. Instead of leaving, we decided to head a few steps over to the bar instead.
That was the best choice we could have made, because our experience with the cool bartenders are what made us new loyal fans of the restaurant.
Virgin Lime Mojito
I ordered a virgin lime mojito and I sipped up every last drop very loudly (sorry, it was so good, I couldn't help it). It had a fresh slice of lime and mint.
Flight of Chilaquiles

I usually order burritos and enchiladas at Mexican restaurants because they are my faves, but today, I decided to eat something new: chilaquiles. My friend and I split a flight of them (we chose the small one, but they do offer a "mega" size flight).
Our server let us sample each of the seven sauces to see which ones we preferred (you can pick 3). My friend loved the poblano and I loved the mole. We both loved the rojo sauce, so we added it to the flight.
Corn Pancakes
We also got to try their corn pancakes, which is a brand new menu item. It comes with some kernels of roasted corn and is drizzled with a sweet cream corn sauce. OMG it was good.

I hope your visit to Los Chilaquiles will make you feel like you're on holiday in a coastal Mexican town. It's open from 8 am to 4 p.m. seven days a week at 418 West Walnut Street. Parking might be hard to find, so either keep driving around until someone leaves or park on a side street near the restaurant.

Grand Monarca (6530 W Nob Hill Blvd Ste 700), Aventura Coffee (118 S 1st St), and Antojitos Mexicanos (3512 Summitview Ave) are also great places in Yakima to get tasty chilaquiles.
