Yakima School District officials are concerned how proposed state budget cuts will effect the plan for a new Eisenhower High school and upgrades at Davis High and Stanton Academy. A news release from the district reads; When the Yakima voters approved the district’s bond measure in May of 2009, it was with the understanding that approximately $105 million would be allocated by the state to support the construction and/or remodel of Eisenhower and Davis High schools, and Stanton Academy. District officials say those state dollars may be in jeopardy, which could affect the construction of these and other capital projects around the state. District officials have set a press conference for tomorrow to talk to the local press about the funding.
