The Yakima Police Department's new K-9 officer Zorro hasn't been on the job for more than 2 months so it's understandable he may not recognize his fellow officers yet. Police say Zorro was doing his job correctly Saturday when he bit an officer instead of the bad guy. Officers were chasing a man who jumped from a stolen vehicle near

St. Joseph’s church and school and when Zorro was freed to do his job an officer who wasn't in his vehicle tried to grab the suspect and Zorro bit the officer. Authorities say the injuries weren't serious and the officer was treated and released from a local hospital.

The suspect was arrested on theft charges of theft and possessing a stolen vehicle.
