Yakima Police Investigating Wednesday Shooting

Yakima Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting and attempted robbery reported on Wednesday night. Officers were called at about 9:25 p.m. after the shooting was reported in the 1600 block of East Race Street. Authorities say 30-year-old Cesar Salgado-Martinez told authorities he was sitting outside a home with a group of people when a man walked up to him pulled a gun and demanded money. The suspect then shot Salgado-Martinez and fled the area. He was taken to a Yakima hospital for treatment of a gunshot would to his abdomen. He's currently in stable condition and is expected to recover. Police are searching for the suspect Today.
