Yakima Man Victim of Hit and Run in Serious Condition. Yakima Police Finds Car-Driver Missing

Yakima Police have found the car but the driver is still missing after a hit and run crash at 3rd Street and Maple Wednesday night that left a Yakima man with serious injuries. Capt. Rod Light says 53-year-old James Dale Henderson was crossing the street at the intersection when he was hit.

Light says “the driver of the vehicle failed to stop after striking Henderson and leaving him in the roadway…the driver did not stop to give any help or call for medical.” Light says officers found the suspect vehicle parked on 3rd Street but police are still searching for the driver who has not been identified. Henderson was taken to a Yakima hospital then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.
