Yakima Man Shot By Officer Is Iraq War Vet

24 year old Raymond Faucher III of Yakima has been identified as the man who was shot by a Yakima Police Officer during an incident outside of the Bank Of America at 40th and Summitview Monday afternoon. Authorities say Faucher is a Iraq war veteran and a student at Yakima Valley Community College. Police Lt. Mike Merryman says the officer involved, Jeff Ely followed department policy and remains on administrative leave. He's been with the department since 2007. Faucher remains in the intensive care unit at a Yakima hospital as the investigation continues.
