Meet Jonah, Showing the Power of Hope in Yakima with CMN

Say hello to Jonah, this month’s CMN Miracle Child! This young man has had a lot happen in his life, but is still standing tall and smiling. Let’s learn more about Jonah below.

Jonah’s bright eyes and infectious smile come with a lot of hard-fought battles for the little guy. His parents learned that he had intrauterine growth restriction at his 20-week ultrasound.

His amazing physicians and staff monitored his slow growth with weekly ultrasounds, and at 31 weeks, his mom’s water broke without warning.

Coming into this world at 2 lbs. 13 oz. via an emergency C-section, Jonah lived the first two months at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital. Special care, treatment, and lots of love were given to Jonah.

When it was time for Jonah to head home, Jonah still had quite the battle. He lived with a GI motility disorder that required a g-tube, a sensory processing disorder, and an autism diagnosis when he was three.

He’s been through a lot, but still holds his head up and smiles, with the community, friends, and family he has made with Children’s Village.
