Yakima Gas Prices Steady at $3.72/Gallon for Past Week

Average gasoline prices in Yakima have remained unchanged over the past week, holding steady at $3.72 per gallon according to a recent survey conducted by GasBuddy, which included responses from 91 stations in the area.

THAT'S A BIG DROP IN PRICES

This current price reflects a modest increase of 1.1 cents per gallon from a month ago, but marks a significant drop of 67.0 cents per gallon compared to this time last year.
In contrast to Yakima, the statewide average in Washington is currently $4.07 per gallon, an increase from $4.06 just a few days earlier.

The cheapest gasoline in the Yakima Valley can be found at Wheelers Kountry Korner in Wapato, where prices are listed at $3.08 per gallon. Meanwhile, both Costco and Ahtanum Fuel Stop in Union Gap are offering regular unleaded gasoline for $3.25 per gallon as of Sunday.

BELOW $3 A GALLON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, commented on the current market trends, stating, "The median U.S. price for gasoline has just slipped below the $3.00 per gallon mark for the first time since early 2024. The national average price of gasoline is beginning to decline as oil prices have started to cool off following recent geopolitical tensions."

WILL WE SEE PRICES DROP EVEN MORE?

De Haan noted that the perceived risk of conflict affecting oil infrastructure has diminished, contributing to a downward trend in oil prices, which are currently fluctuating below the $70 per barrel mark. With economic challenges in China adding pressure to the market, there is cautious optimism that this trend could result in further reductions in gasoline prices across the country.
