Adimando Viveros, Jr. was going about his daily job routine, patrolling the inmate cell blocks, when he noticed something was amiss.

KIMA-TV reports that two of the inmates had switched jail cells without prior authorization.

When Viveros confronted the inmates about the situation, a different inmate jumped on him and began attacking him. Three other inmates leaped in and joined the fight. Fortunately, Viveros was pulled to safety by other corrections officers, but not before he suffered a broken nose and fractured rib.

It takes a brave person to become a corrections officer, especially when one takes into account that situations like this can occur without warning on any given day.
