The Yakima Valley is as prepared as possible for a major earthquake according to Jim Hall Director of the Yakima County Office of Emergency Management. And Hall says the county participates in emergency excercises at Hanford to simulate a problem at the nuclear plant that could be caused by a natural disaster. But while Hall says emergency plans are in place it's up to you to prepare your home for an emergency. The general rule; Have 3 days of supplies on hand for you and your family.
