Since 1997 Jeff Cutter has been the Yakima City Attorney Today he starts training for an interim job the city council appointed him to last Friday, Interim City Manager. Cutter says "It is going to be a great challenge. There's a lot facing the city and the city council." City officials say current city manager Tony O'Rourke will still be working alongside Cutter until he resigns on December 31st. They say it's like a training process preparing the interim manager for his new duties.
Cutter has worked with the city's legal department since 1997. The council during a meeting at city hall Friday also decided to form a committee made up of current and newly elected council members to search for a hiring firm to replace O'Rourke.
