It's time to give the gift of life and receive a cheese sandwich.
The American Red Cross office in Yakima is hoping you'll give blood this month. This month Red Cross officials say they need your blood for the patients in area hospitals.

ALL BLOOD TYPES ARE NEEDED BUT ESPECIALLY TYPE O

Donors of all blood types are asked to give now to keep blood supply levels rising after a summer shortage. Type O blood donors are especially needed.
A special day is coming up on Wednesday, September 11. That's cheese sandwich day when you recieve a hot cheese sandwich for giving blood. The office is located at 302 South 2nd Street. Officials say a steady increase in lifesaving blood products is vital to ensuring hospitals stay ready for any situation this fall.
