Yakima Fire Department investigators say they believe a house fire reported late Tuesday was set intentionally. Firefighters were called to the 1000 block of North 4th Street just before midnight Tuesday when they arrived they found the home engulfed in flames. A press release says the fire was from floor to ceiling. One person was at home at the time of the fire but was able to escape without any injuries however 2 cats died in the fire. Six people lived in the home and are now being helped by the American Red Cross. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
