An investigation is underway after a train derailment reported earlier today at State Route 22 and Phillips Road east of Mabton. Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say officials with the BNSF, The Washington State Patrol and Department of Ecology are on the scene of the derailment reported at about 9:30 a.m.  There's no major spills just some diesel fuel and no roads are closed as a result of the derailment.The Sunnyside Sun newspaper says the derailment was caused after the train struck a large truck hauling farm equipment. The train conductor and engineer were not injured. No word on the driver of the truck.
Firefighters with Fire District Five in Toppenish are also on the scene.
