Tragic Fire In Ellensburg Still Under Investigation

Ellensburg fire officials are still investigating a fire Saturday that took the life a young mother and her two young sons. Firefighters were called to the duplex just before 1am on 14th Avenue in Ellensburg. Cynthia Smith and her 4 and 6 year old sons died in the fire that's being blamed on a stove top. Fire investigators say it looks like Smith was cooking something, forgot about it and went to bed. They say there were multiple smoke alarms in the home but all were without batteries. And firefighters say there was no sign the three ever tried to escape.
