Officials at Yakima County Fire District 5 are looking for thousands of dollars worth of equipment after a burglary last Thursday. Fire District 5 officials say the loss amounts to between $35,000 and $40,000. They say all items are engraved, labeled or written Yakima County Fire District 5 or YCFD5.  The fire district lost two brand-new Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA’s), a generator, a circular saw, chain saw, air lifting bags, and a tool box, as well as some protective clothing used to respond to emergencies. The district is working with the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and is asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office. Fire officials are also asking everyone in the public to keep eyes open because they say some of the missing items are unique and the general public would not have these things in their possession.
