Talks Between Teachers And School District Continue

Negotiations continue Friday and possibly into the weekend between the Yakima Education Association and the Yakima School District. Earlier this week the association voted to authorize a strike if the school board doesn't provide a larger teacher salary increase offer. School starts Monday. Talks continue Friday afternoon.
The school board could stand firm on it's 3.3 percent offer or it could increase the offer and a settlement could be reached avoiding a strike.
