A BIG BOND IS ON THE BALLOT FOR WAPATO TO BUILD NEW SCHOOLS A MEETING SET FOR NEXT MONTH
Also on the ballot is a construction bond proposal by the Wapato School District. The $33 million bond would fund the replacement of three schools in the district. An informational forum to talk about the bond is set for February 7 at Satus Elementary in Wapato. The forum starts at 7:00 pm.
YOU CAN THANK THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION FOR BIGGER NUMBERS
Auditor Ross says while levy and bond elections traditionally see low turnouts that changes during an presidential election year. He says many times people feel that if they don't vote in other elections during the year they won't get a ballot this fall. That's not true however. If you are a registered voter you will receive a ballot whenever an election is happening in Yakima County. You have the choice of voting the ballot or ignoring it but it won't have any impact on you receiving a ballot in the future.
