No relief for firefighters battling the large Schneider Springs Fire which grew more than 7,000 acres on Thursday with still zero percent containment.

THE BLAZE IS NOW AT MORE THAN 63,000 ACRES

The fire is now estimated at 64,484 acres. On Thursday fire officials say they lost three horses and a outbuilding but no homes have burned even though many are threatened in the area of the fire.
The fire was more than 31,000 acres on Wednesday so it's more than doubled since midweek.

NEW EVACUATION ORDERS WERE ISSUED ON THURSDAY

Thursday afternoon new LEVEL 3 evacuation notices were issued for people who live on SR 410 from the intersection of Highway 12 to Little Naches and Bumping Lake Road...officials also issued Level 2 be ready notices to those living on Highway 12 from the intersection with SR 410 to the end of The Tieton Reservoir Road. More evacuation notices could be issued Friday and into the weekend.
State officials now estimate full containment by October 1.
Calmer winds and cooler temperatures are expected to help firefighters battle the flames this weekend.
500 people are working to fight the fire.

The officials say check with Yakima County Office of Emergency Management’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/YakimaCountyOEM for updates on evacuation information.

The fire was started on August 3 by a lightning strike. It's burning in an area that's tough for firefighters to access.
The blaze is now burning about 18 miles from of Naches in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
Campfire restrictions remain in place in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
