State Senator Curtis King arrives in Yakima Tuesday to listen to citizen's concerns about traffic and roads around the area.

King serves as the Co-Chair of the State Transportation Committee looking at the needs all over the state. And he is holding series of meetings throughout Washington.

A meeting will be held in Yakima Tuesday night and King says bring your ideas your frustrations and your concerns about transportation.

“We just want to know what people think about a host of transportation issues including whether or not they’d support the funding mechanisim.”

One of the many ways lawmakers want to fund transportation needs in the state is through raising the state gas tax which would add to one of the highest gas taxes in the nation.

King wants to know if the public would support the additional fee for some major needs in Washington.

The meeting is set for 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Yakima Area Arboretum in the Garden View room.
