SPOKANE  (AP) — A 33-year-old woman is in a Spokane jail, charged with felony hit and run in a crash that severed a motorcyclist's leg last week.

The Spokesman-Review says Leslie Hester was arrested Friday night following a tip. Police had been looking for the driver of a gold-colored SUV since the April 23 hit and run.

Spokane police officer Paul Taylor says Hester reported told police she was the driver involved.

Police say motorcyclist Daniel "Dutch" Inwood clipped a gold-colored SUV while it was in the middle of the road and was thrown to the ground, tearing his left leg just below the kneecap. The driver of the SUV left the scene.
