Six People Arrested At Smoke Shops Appear In Court

Six

people arrested in raids at smoke shops in Yakima, Kennewick and Wenatchee on Thursday made an appearance in federal court in Yakima this morning. Yakima Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says the arrests in Yakima were the result of tips from local residents. "There were several citizen complaints that came directly to the Chief and the department. That lead the chief to enlist our federal partners to help in the more than year long investigation." U.S. Marshals, DEA Agents and the Yakima Police Department served five search warrants at two different smoke shops for allegedly selling illegal synthetic drugs. The arrests were made at the Smoke It's shop on South First Street and the One Love smoke shop on South 24th Avenue. Agents also raided the One Love Glass Land in Kennewick Thursday and a store in Wenatchee. Two people were arrested in those raids.
