Wine tasting straight from the barrel that's what you'll find at many wineries in the Yakima Valley this weekend during Spring Barrel Tasting event, happening from April 25-27 at over 30 local wineries.

YOU'LL NEED TWO THINGS FOR THE WEEKEND

If you attend don't forget to bring your own wine glass and consider finding a designated driver for the festivities. John Cooper, President & CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism, calls it a unique experience: “Many of the winemakers will pull tastes straight from the barrel, giving you a sneak peek at how their young vintages may mature.” along with sampling fine wines, you can enjoy a variety of tasting, pairing, and educational experiences that provide insight into the winemaking process.

IT'S TIME TO STOCK UP FOR THOSE SUMMER PARTIES

Cooper also says you'll also be able to purchase wine from the many wineries for your upcoming spring and summer gatherings. Make sure to stop at as many wineries as possible because some wineries may offer wines that are not yet officially bottled for purchase.

FOOD FUN AND WINE AT THE WINERIES

Many wineries will also feature food vendors, live entertainment, and activities to enhance the experience. Expect large crowds so plan your weekend.
While there is no required passport or ticket for the event, some wineries may charge tasting fees or for wine glasses. For more information and a list of participating wineries, visit www.visityakima.com. Don't miss out on this chance to taste the future of Yakima Valley wines!
