The Central Washington State Fair is always looking for something fun, unique, different and this year -September 21 to 30- fair organizers are offering up the opportunity for you to participate in the latest trend of street art called Yarn Bombing.

It's described as what happens when "thread enthusiasts from across the nation carefully cover their favorite outdoor objects in yarn over night to leave an eye-appealing surprise the next day."

Sound kinda fun?  Fair officials say they are opening up the fairgrounds to “yarn bomb” a chosen object to be on display for all 10 days of fair with the grand prize winner receiving $150.00.

Other new competitive opportunities for the community include Gluten-Free Baking, Pet Wear, Wagon Gardens, Junior Runway Challenge, Fish Fly Tying, Painted Rocks, and the crowning of the first Central Washington Hay King of the Year.

The details on how to enter, rules, and deadlines on all of these and more can be found in the online Exhibitor Guidebook or in a printed version at the main office.
