On Tuesday, the Yakima County Violent Crimes Task Force assisted the Selah Police Department in arresting Christopher M. Tasker II for the kidnapping.

Tasker was arrested for 1st degree armed robbery, 1st degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is awaiting arraignment in the Yakima County Jail with no bail.

Tasker was recently released from jail after serving time for a March 2012 2nd degree kidnapping charge in Tacoma.

The Selah Police Department investigated a kidnapping case on June 13th that sent a Yakima woman to the hospital. The suspect got into the backseat of the victim's car while it was parked at the Selah Intermediate School parking lot, pointed a handgun at her and told her drive.

After a short distance, the woman jumped out of her car. Her car rolled into a ditch, rolled onto its side and the suspect exited the vehicle and ran from the collision site.
