Shocking Child Endangerment in Selah: Three Kids Found Alone Amidst Drugs
In a disturbing discovery Friday, authorities say they found three young children living alone in a Selah residence with access to dangerous illegal drugs and unsanitary conditions that could have threatened their lives.
THE HOME IS IN THE 100 BLOCK OF LYNWOOD LANE SELAH
According to court documents from the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement agencies including Selah, Yakima, Grandview, and the Washington State Patrol executed a search warrant at a home located in the 100 block of Lynwood Lane in Selah. The investigation happened after undercover officers arrived at the residence and told the 42-year-old suspect that someone had struck his vehicle in the driveway.
When the suspect exited the residence, officers took him into custody.

THREE YOUNG KIDS FOUND AMONG UNSANITARY CONDITIONS
They then started a thorough search of the home, where they found three children—ranging in age from 10 months to 3 years—in the living room with no adult supervision.
The court documents describe the living conditions inside the home as “extremely unsanitary.” Authorities reported that the children’s bouncy chairs were covered in “dry brown matter consistent with human feces,” and their toys were also covered in “filthy residue.”
AUTHORITIES FOUND LOTS OF ILLEGAL DRUGS
Further investigation revealed multiple baggies of illegal drugs throughout the residence, located in areas accessible to the children. Authorties say the narcotics posed an “extreme risk” to their health and safety. Law enforcement confiscated psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, marijuana, and Oxycodone pills in various quantities. Additional items found inside the home included cash and brass knuckles.
The children were removed from the residence by the Department of Health and Social Services and are now in protective custody.

The 42-year-old suspect faces charges including possession with intent to deliver marijuana, Oxycodone, cocaine, and psilocybin mushrooms.
