School Busses May Soon Have Cameras

Governor Chris Gregoire will now consider whether to sign off on legislation that allows school busses to have cameras. They would photograph vehicles that illegally pass school busses. The bill approved by both chambers would allow the equipment which zaps photos to cops who in turn send a ticket to the vehicle’s registered owner. The fine is $394. It’s up to local school boards to decide whether to pursue the program.
