The Run Out Malaria 5K Run/Walk will be at Sarg Hubbard Park on Saturday, Aug. 18!

Here's a little background:

In August of 2017, Central Washington University staff member  went to Sierra Leone, West Africa, on a solo, global health project of his own creation. He spent two weeks in the capital city of Freetown and the western area of Regent, building connections and eventually distributing 150 long-lasting, insecticidal nets between two small communities. He hopes to develop the project into long term work and create an affordable and accessible distribution network for these types of malaria nets.

With the help of 2018 Highland High School graduate Eddie Toledo, the Run Out Malaria 5K Run/Walk 2018 will be held on Aug. 18 at Sarg Hubbard Park.

This 5K Run/Walk will help raise funds to purchase as many long last insecticidal nets as possible. Trenkenschuh, founder of Synaptic Street, also has plans to expand his team on the ground to provide more malaria prevention and intervention educational opportunities to communities he has connected with.
