If you're not registered to vote in this presidential election year it's likely you will be in the next couple of months says Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross. He says not only does his office expect more people to register but larger turnouts as well in 2016. "Whenever there's a presidential election on the top of the ticket typically more voters come out and vote than usual." Ross says as people get more excited about the process his office will be making sure they get out accurate information through the offices newly designed website. Today nearly 107,000 people are registered to vote in Yakima County. The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 2 Primary election is July 4 online or in the mail or July 25 in person. The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 General election is Oct. 10 online or in the mail, or Oct. 31 in person.
