A 16-year-old boy is recovering at a Yakima hospital today after being shot in the abdomen following a fight at a south Yakima home early Sunday. Yakima police say the boy told them he was shot after a fight at a home in the 1200 block of East Mead Avenue. A press release says the officers found the boy near the intersection of South First Street and Nob Hill Blvd. at about 3:30 Sunday morning. The boy was taken to a Yakima hospital where he underwent surgery Sunday afternoon. He is now recovering as police continue to investigate. Police have not made any arrests and aren't saying if the shooting was gang related.
