Yakima Police say they're searching for suspects in a rash of small store robberies reported in the last two weeks including three on Wednesday. Lt. Mike Pollard says the first robbery was reported at 7:24 p.m. at a store at 316 South 3rd Street. The next happened at about 9:42 p.m. at the 5th Avenue Safeway fuel station and the third was reported at about 11:06 p.m. Pollard tells KIT News. "It looks like all three are different subjects but we can't rule out anything."
The robberies on Wednesday continued into Thursday when a lone gunman robbed the 711 at 1512 Summitivew Avenue. That robbery was reported 12:35 a.m. Thursday morning. Pollard says for some reason they see a rash of small store robberies at this time every year in the city of Yakima.
