Yakima Police say they've arrested 17-year-old David Ortega in connection with the homicide in West Valley. Officers were called to the area of South 6th Avenue and Beach Street Tuesday where they found the suspect with a gun that matched the gun used in the West Valley homicide. Ortega was arrested on a second degree murder charge. He's being held in the juvenile jail but is expected to face the murder charge as an adult.



Yakima Police have arrested a 17-year-old murder suspect in connection with last Thursday's fatal shooting of 19-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez-Castaneda in West Yakima. Rodriguez-Castaneda was found dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of West Valley Middle School on South 75th Avenue. The 17-year-old suspect is being held on a second degree murder charge in the Yakima County Juvenile Justice Center. The investigation continues Today.
