One Man Dead in Crash Near Wapato

The Washington State Patrol says one man from Toppenish is dead after a crash near Wapato Wednesday evening.

Troopers say the 27-year-old man was driving West along McDonald Road when he ran a stop sign at Lateral A Road crashing into another car in the intersection, injuring a 19-year-old woman from Yakima. It happened just before 5 p.m.

Troopers say the drivers of both cars were taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where the 27-year-old man later died. Troopers have not released the man's name.

An investigation is underway.
