Officials with the Yakima County Office of Emergency Management are assessing damage and making repairs after weekend flooding in parts of the Yakima Valley. Kent Catlin with the office of emergency management says the rain and snow melt started to flood parts of the valley early Sunday morning and into Sunday afternoon.
Catlin says they're working closely with the Southern Baptist Relief Organization that's helping people to repair damage especially those who don't have insurance. More rain is in the forecast for Wednesday when Catlin says we could see some minor flooding.
To report damage. If you live in the city contact The Yakima Fire Department at 575-6060 and in the county contact the Yakima County office of Emergency Management at 574 1900.
