In 2009 a huge landslide covered State Route 410 in the Nile area. This month the State Department of Transportation is making some major repairs and they're holding a public meeting to give residents details about the project. DOT spokesperson Summer Deery says construction crews need to strengthen the riverbank to prevent the new highway from eroding before the water level rises in the spring. Several buildings will be removed from the flood plain. Once groundwater levels recede in June, major construcion will begin on support walls and the new highway. How will construction impact residents in the area? You'll find out in a meeting at the Nile Valley Community Church set for 6pm on March 27th.
